Any Sailor Moon fans out there? I’m always looking for ways to merge my love of cartoons and comics with my love of fashion, and this Moon Princess necklace by Tequila Star Couture was the perfect find–a simple yet stunning portrayal of the brave celestial anime queen.

Springtime Indulgences

No matter what the season, I sing the praises of dark colors year-round. But after catching a glimpse of this darling watermelon dress from New York Couture’s Wonderland collection, I went on a springtime kick–seeking out pieces just as bright, fruity, and sugary-sweet.

Time To Play With Dolls

Time To Play With Dolls

Internet dress-up dolls–are they childish time-wasters or useful practice tools for aspiring stylists? Well, if you’re putting aside your work in order to put makeup on Justin Bieber (yes, that is a game you can find online), then I’d definitely say it’s the former. However, with the far more sophisticated dress-up sites you can currently find online–such as Looklet and Roiworld–you might actually be able to convince yourself that, in some way, you benefited from that hour spent trying to find the perfect virtual heels to complement your model’s virtual miniskirt (but probably not…).

How I Plan to Wig Out

How I Plan to Wig Out

If you refer to my last post, you’ll see that I was wearing a wig (man, I wish my real hair was that long). I used to wear wigs all the time in high school, and once again they’re slowly becoming something of an obsession of mine. So far I have two natural-looking human hair wigs but I’m also looking to pick up something more outlandish–especially considering the upcoming comic conventions I plan to attend and hopefully cosplay at. Let me show you some of the wigs that’ve caught my eye…

I’m Back! Now It’s Time for Some Lime Crime

This weekend I was finally able to emerge from my cave and step back in front of the camera (yay!)–and it’s about time. I’d been hanging on to my Lime Crime Carousel lip glosses for quite a while, and I’d been dying to show them in action.

UNIF, I Love You, Get A New Lookbook

A brand I’m currently obsessing over is UNIF–trashy, grungy, totally punk rock, but featuring an amazing variety that spans from torn up tees and bondage miniskirts to ethereal LBds and glam velvet robes. But the one gripe I have is that, based on their lookbooks, you can barely decipher what they have to offer.

Welcome to the Fashion World…Andrew W.K.?

Remember when it used to actually surprise us when a celebrity took on a side project or pursued a second career path? Like Madonna as an actress, Michael Jordan as a baseball player, or Eddie Murphy as a singer (that was something…). But that time has since passed, and now that every entertainer has at least two or three different projects under their belt, it probably doesn’t come as that much of a shock to find out that the newest performer gone fashion designer is Andrew W.K. You can check out his designs, here.

Top It Off With A Blingin’ Crystal Explosion

Alright, now let’s enter the realm of all things impractical (not like that’s anything new, eh?) and take a look at the super blingin, ultra luxe headgear by Deryck Todd. I actually found them opulently hideous at first glance, but after finding this beautiful Vogue Italia editorial, I began to see their charm (when placed atop pretty lady’s head, at least).

Shall We Play Catch Up?

I haven’t shown my face on the blog for a while, but I’m anxiously waiting for an opportunity to get back in front of a camera, so I can review all the new cosmetics I’ve received (including Lime Crime’s Carousel lip glosses, wooh!) and show off this glorious item that I just received in the mail:

The reason I’ve been hiding out lately is because my body lashed out at me–leaving me with a wonderfully large and noticeable rash on my face that I’m still waiting to clear up. But as I continue to hide out for another week or so, I figured I’d mention a bit about what I’ve been up to.

Let’s Play Pretend: How I’d Get My Burlesque On

One of my best friends is taking burlesque lessons this week, and this post is inspired by her. I’ve been in love with burlesque for quite some time, especially since seeing the work of the amazing Veronica Varlow, and talking to some local burlesque performers, such as Keycifer Black. I love the performance art itself, but I can’t deny that a large part of my love and fascination comes from the personas they create, and the ornate costumes. I started thinking, if I were a burlesque performer, what would I wear?

Fall 2012 and the “Oh My Gosh” Cape

I’m hoping you all got a nice hearty dose of delicious eye-candy, by way of the new Fall 2012 collections and presentations during NYFW. There were more than a few designers that stole my heart, but I seriously narrowed down the list to just three, so that this post wouldn’t go on for an eternity.

Duro Olowu–Eye-popping colors, and oh my gosh, that cape…

Just Another Reason to Love Zac Posen…

Zac Posten  knows a thing or two about vampin it up. His silhouettes are always classy and feminine, with the perfect touch of seduction.

With the Z Spoke by Zac Posen Fall RTW collection, this is one of the few times when I favor clean lines and subtlety over loud, gaudy designs. These figure-hugging pieces enhance and complement, rather than overshadow, and I’m totally in love.

10 Love-Themed Accessories that Aren’t Sickeningly Sweet

I’m a self-proclaimed Valentine’s Day hater (always have been, always will be) but I figured I’d sort of acknowledge it. I may hate the holiday, but there are still quite a bit of fun Valentine’s Day appropriate jewelry and accessories out there worth featuring. Here’s the roundup of my favorite love-themed and heart-shaped pieces this year. I tried to look for pieces sweet enough, but not so much as to send you into sugar shock. Ugh…

2. Chains of Love Choker by Ghost Love

The Three “Hell Yes” Moments of the Week

New York Fashion Week is coming up, Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbooks are being released, a number of amazing couture  runway shows occurred–this is one of the more exciting times of the year for anyone who follows fashion in general. But along with all that, I’ve found a few additional, more personal, “oh hell yes” moments to get psyched about in the last two weeks.

1. Jeantrix relaunched their online shop with LOADS of new items up for sale.
